Living in Setagaya with school-age children

  • More space for the money: Setagaya is largely residential, with more family-sized homes and parks than central wards.
  • Where families live: Futako-Tamagawa, Yoga, Seta and Kaminoge are close to St. Mary’s, Seisen and TIPS; Sangenjaya suits BST secondary students.
  • Mixed-gender families: St. Mary’s (boys) and Seisen (girls) are both in southern Setagaya, which makes them a practical pairing for families with a son and a daughter.
  • Commute: Den-en-toshi Line trains can be very crowded at rush hour; check whether your school’s bus stops near your home.
